God before country

Wednesday last, September 30, more that two hundred Orange County Republican activist gathered at the prestigious Balboa Bay Club to launch the campaign of conservative Republican candidate for the state assembly Don Wagner, the attorney president of the South Orange County Community College District. The broad base and enthusiastic gathering of local GOP donors and activists was opened with prayer. Long time GOP former chairman Tom Fuentes said, "As we gather to launch this campaign, we do as Republicans always do in the Orange County Community when they gather. We begin our time together with prayer."
With that, the state wide newly elected chairman of the California young republicans, Shawn Fago delivered a profound invocation to the Deity with all heads bowed. The striking moment led by the youngest generation of the local GOP demonstrated the ingrained traditional values of the South Orange County community, which includes the 70th district. Millionaires and precinct walking volunteers prayerfully and equally stood shoulder to shoulder with yachts and the bay as their backdrop. As with the Pledge of allegiance to the flag of the United States, which followed the invocation, the moment told the seriousness with which local republicans view the election process. Ask any of them, and the protocol of God before Country is their tradition!
